...9 months ago I was gazing into my (not so little) babies eyes for the first time. 9 months ago I was amazed I just had a 10 lb 1 oz baby, naturally, and everything went amazingly well.
18 months ago we decided to increase our family...I admit, I was scared and excited (a little more scared than excited). We had 2 kids that were self sufficient. We were equally matched..2 adults vs 2 kids..now we would be out numbered, but we needed a tie breaker. Grace would be starting kindergarten and Jack was going into 3rd grade...were we crazy to start over again? The answer is of course...NO WAY! My heart kept saying "ahhh a baby...think of the baby smell, their little toes, their sweet coo's", and my head was saying "no more sleeping in, diapers, crying, diapers". Good thing my heart won! Kate fits right in and is so loved by Jack and Grace...she is pretty spoiled (maybe not such a great thing :) ). I can't imagine our family without any of them.
She has the best personality! In 9 months Kate has learned how to roll over, smile, sit up, crawl, give kisses and hugs, wave hi/bye, play pat-a-cake (her favorite), say mama and dadda, feed herself, torment the dog...I am sure I am forgetting so many things.
She just had her 9 month check up and she is staying on course for being our smallest child (not smallest at birth). Here are her stats:
Kate at 9 months: Height: 27 3/4", Weight: 17 lbs
(Kate at 9 months)
As a comparison to what we were used to from Jack and Grace:
Yep, Jack was 10 lbs heavier at 9 months than Kate and they were both 3 inches taller! She is our peanut!
