Yes, she sleeps with us (all of our kids did). I can't let her cry it out...I just can't do it. I have tried but I am too weak. Tonight I put the rocking chair & CD player in her bedroom and have tried to rock her with some quiet heartbeat music and she would not let herself go to sleep. She would almost be asleep and pop her head up and smile at me and start playing. So I put her in her crib and came down here. I could hear her crying and crying so I went up and she had somehow kicked her sock off inside her sleeper and both her feet were trapped in the body of it. She was MAD. I fixed her all up and she calmed right down and I came back down here. So far I don't hear any crying. My plan tonight is to keep her in her crib and hope that maybe the bed is just getting too crowded for her and since Daddy doesn't like to sleep on the couch I guess that means it is time for Miss Kate to try sleeping alone.
Does anyone out there have any idea's beyond "just let them cry". I can deal with her making noise and fussing in her crib, but not the horrible, sad/mad cry that makes real tears....
Oh sheri, sleep is nice, isn't it! My sister is going through the same thing right now with her little guy and they are only a week or two apart. So keep in mind some of this may just be a phase. On the other hand maybe she does need her own space in her own crib. I'm guessing she sleeps in there during the day since you have one set up? And I guess I've always done a modified version of the cry it out. First time check after 2 min, then 5, then 7, then 10, you get the drift. I know it's hard but I do believe that children need help learning how to sleep and stay asleep by themselves...a rested house is a happy house! Good luck!
